Cabot visits Iceland

Earlier this year Cabot took a trip to Iceland!

Cabot overlooks Reykjavik harbor.

This is Cabot in front of a city map of Reykjavik. The red circle is exactly where he is, in our apartment overlooking the harbor.

Cabot experiences the local drink Icelanders refer to as "Black Death" sort of fitting for a rat, yes?

This is Cabot in front of the Gullfoss Waterfalls in Iceland.

Cabot had a wonderful time, but it was VERY windy-he was afraid he might get blown away into the icy waters of Iceland! It was certainly an adventure-and he's ready for the next one!

Cabot Visits India & Nepal

Here I am at the Newark airport. Waiting to board the plane to Delhi.

My new friend is keeping me company.

Aboard a tuk-tuk!

 On a local Indian bus.

Looking at Mt Kanchenjunga from Darjeeling. Isn't the view amazing?!

At a tea estate in Darjeeling.

Waiting for the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway.

Enjoying "puris" at an Indian breakfast.

Lost in a tea bush in Nepal. Quite a nice place to be lost, actually!

Posing in the hills of eastern Nepal.

Cabot Spends Time in Fort Worth, TX

I spent some time in Fort Worth, Texas between March and July of this year.

I got to see the wonderful musical Cats!

Here I am with Deuteronomy. Isn't he wonderful?

In addition to the characters in the musical I got to meet some real cats too. This is my friend, Jack. I met him at a cat show in Houston.

I also met this lady. She's a python who lives in Waco.

I went to the Fort Worth Arboretum. Aren't these pansies pretty?

I'm getting hungry!

After the Arboretum it was time for a refreshing beverage! Hmmm, Long Island Iced Tea?

Or English beer?

Beer it is! Delicious.

While in Fort Worth I got to celebrate Litha. Litha is a major Sabbat. It's also known as the Summer Solstice or Midsummer. This is a Pagan altar.

Thanks so much to my hostess. I had a wonderful time in Texas!

Cabot Visits Seguin, Texas

Earlier this summer I went to Seguin, Texas. The town was named after Juan Seguin.

Seguin (/sɨˈɡiːn/ sə-gheen) is a city in and the county seat of Guadalupe County, Texas.  Seguin is one of the oldest towns in Texas. It was founded just 16 months after Texas won independence, and the frontier settlement was a cradle of the Texas Rangers.  See this link for more history: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seguin,_Texas

Seguin is the Pecan Capital of Texas.

I'm visiting the Stremple Farm.

The Stremple farm has been a working farm since the early 1950's.

You could get lost in here.

Is the corn very big, or am I just very small?

Isn't it beautiful among the sunflowers?

What a wonderful visit to a beautiful place.

Cabot Goes to a Medieval Festival

Cabot had a great time visiting the annual Medieval Festival held at the Cloisters Museum in Fort Tryon Park, New York in September 2012. This is their 28th year!

Cabot met all kinds of exotic looking people!

There were banners and sword makers…

and more exotic people!

There was an odd looking dragon that kind of looked like a rat...

There were beautiful horses...

and a very nice view across the Hudson River to New Jersey.

The Cloisters Museum if the Medieval Art branch of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. It contains parts of many real medieval buildings, brought here and rebuilt.

In the parking lot they were performing scenes from Macbeth.

There were knights on horseback and jousting.

At the end of the day, Cabot met a king and his lady.

But the best part of the day was when Cabot met Umber, a beautiful REAL rat!

Welcome To Maine

From New Hampshire Cabot took a drive into Maine.

Welcome to Maine: the way life should be.

I'm at the top of Kancamagus Mountain. The scenery is absolutely gorgeous.

What a view!

I love making new friends. Here I am with Glenda and her piggy, Lucybelle Lulu, in South Portland, Maine.
